What are Chakras

Chakras are energy centers in the human body as stated by ancient Indian Sitthars and Rishis. It is described in detail in Yogic Systems and in Indian Traditional Medicine ( Siddha & Ayurveda )

Chakra“ is a Sanskrit word which means “wheel”. The function of the Chakras / Energy Centres is to receive Energy from the planets and five elements. This Energy is known as Universal Energy / Cosmic Energy / Life Force Energy. Physical, Mental and emotional wellness depends on this Universal Energy.

There are seven major chakras, aligned along the spine from its base to the top of the head. Each chakra has specific functions.

Root Chakra - Muladhara

Location: Base of the spine

Function: Physical strength and stability

Second Chakra - Svadhisthana

Location: Lower abdomen, below the navel

Function: Emotions and feelings

Third Chakra - Manipuraga

Location: Upper abdomen, near the stomach

Function: Intuition,and motivation

Fourth Chakra - Anahatam ( Heart Chakra)

Location: Center of the chest

Function: Love and compassion, Understanding and Forgiveness

Throat Chakra (Vishuddha)

Location: Throat

Function: Wellness of ENT

Sixth Chakra -Ajna (Third Eye Chakra)

Location: Between the eyebrows

Function: Insight , Mental wellness, Concentration and wisdom

Seventh Chakra - Sahasrara( Crown Chakra )

Location: Top of the head

Function: Spiritual awareness, Connection to higher consciousness, Inner peace

Chakras regulate the flow of energy in the body. When the Energy is balanced, they promote physical health, emotional stability, and mental clarity. When the energy gets blocked or imbalanced due to emotional disturbances they lead to stress , discomfort and health issues.
